I’ve been wanting to get back into blogging for a long time. I had a blog years ago that no longer exists, and I loved it. It was called Everything with Al, and in that blog, I wrote about my favorite restaurants, places to travel to, and life lessons. I’d like to say I don’t…
This is how it all started…
I’ve been wanting to get back into blogging for a long time – since 2020, actually. Writing has always been a part of how I process life. At first, I wanted to start a blog to work through my childhood – using humor as a way to peel back the layers and find light in hard places. It would have been raw, healing and it would have helped me laugh while I made peace with some really heavy things.
Then came another season. One where I wanted to include golf in my writing. Golf would be the metaphor for life and healing. I started a log called Bogies and Blessings, thinking I’d chronicle my journey on the course and in faith. But, as I wrote, it didn’t feel quite right.
Then one day, Jesus in the Details came to me – softly, but with certainty. And it stuck. I felt it deep in my spirit: this was the name, the direction, the heart of what I’d been tring to say all along. It wasn’t about the theme or chapter. It was about seeing Jesus show up in all of them – in the laughter, in the grief, in the random Tuesday’s and the big turning points.
So, here we are.
This blog is my way of sharing what I’m learning – about God, about myself, about healing, heartbreak, wholeness, and the sacredness of everyday moments. It’s funny sometimes, gut-wrenching other times, but always honest. Because if Jesus is in the details, then so is the healing. So is the joy. So is the hope.
